What is EFT?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or ‘tapping’ is a brief self-applied stress reduction technique using elements of cognitive therapy, with physical stimulation of acupressure points.
It is often referred to as ‘tapping’ because it uses 2 fingers to tap over 8 specific acupressure locations.
EFT can address a wide range of issues by simply focusing on the issue you would like to address all the while tapping using a simple two finger tapping technique. Tapping sends calming signals to parts of the brain impacted by the phrases you use while tapping. When you think about a certain issue, certain thoughts, feelings, memories, or physical sensations may arise for you. Some of these thought patterns and behaviours may not be serving you well as you move throughout life. Tapping helps to re-wire our brains, it helps to re-write the narrative around thoughts and memories which in turn, provides us with the clarity and calmness to move forward.
Effectiveness for EFT has been established for anxiety, depression, phobias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, pain management, weight issues, food cravings, sleep disorders, sports performance and more. Tapping can be used by a certified practitioner to gently and safely approach life events which are perceived as trauma.
